HARIDWAR- Haridwar located in the foothills of the Himalayas in the north Indian state of Uttaranchal represents the point where the Ganga reaches the plains. Haridwar is an ageless pilgrimage destination, held in reverence for centuries. Several temples and ashrams are found in this town and a visit to Haridwar is like stepping into a comletely different world. Once known as Gangadwara, Haridwar (and Rishikesh) represents the gateway to the Himalayan pilgrimage shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath. Haridwar has very rich ancient religious and cultural heritage. In the ancient scriptures of India, this place is well known by the name of Mayapur. This city is also well known for many other things apart from the holy river Ganges. Besides this, Kumbh fair is organised at the interval of every 12 years in this city in which about 1 crore pilgrims from all over the world participate.
Sight Seeing:
Daksha Mahadev-This temple is an ancient shrine located at Kankhal, and is one of the five sacred places around Haridwar. It is associated with Sati, the spouse of Lord Shiva who immolated herself to preserve his honour on being insulted by her father, King Daksha Prajapati. This incident provoked the disciples of Mahadev and killed King Daksha. But later Lord Mahadev brought him back to life. The temple is an attribute to this legend. Daksha Mahadev Temple is also known as Shri Daksheshwar temple. It has a gilded image of a serpent symbolising Shiva.
Har Ki Pauri- Har Ki Pauri is one of the most sacred ghats in India. It is said that this ghat was built by Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari. Also known as Brahmakund, the Ghat is magnificently illuminated in the evening during a Maha Aarti performed on this ghat. It is an event which is a must, not be missed by any visitor.
Mansa Devi- Located on top of a hill called the Bilwa Parvat, the Manas Devi Temple is worth visiting. The temple can be reached by the rope way or one can take the normal trekking route to the top. The top of the hill gives you an excellent view of Haridwar.
Chandi Devi temple- This temple is located on the Neel Parvat that is located on the banks of the River Ganga in Haridwar in Uttaranchal, India. This temple was constructed sometime in the year 1929 A.D. The temple is located at a distance of 3 kilometers from Chandi Ghat in Haridwar, Uttaranchal, India. According to legend the statue of the main deity was set up by the saint Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. Another historic site is the Gauri Shanker Temple that you can visit during your tours to the temples of Haridwar.
Day 2. Rishikesh To Mussoorie
After Breakfast Checkout From The Hotel And Leave For City Tour to Rishikesh and Onward Journey To Mussoorie.On Arrival in Mussoorie Checkin in Hotel Evening Free For Shopping Leisure and Personal Activities.Overnight In Hotel Mussoorie
Rishikesh-The name Rishikesh is loosely applied to an association of five distinct sections encompassing not only the town but also hamlets and settlements on both sides of the river Ganges. These include Rishikesh itself, the commercial and communication hub; the sprawling suburban Muni-ki-Reti or the "sands of the sages"; Shivananda Nagar, north of Rishikesh; the temple section of Lakshman Jhulla, a little further north; and the assorted Ashrams around Swarg Ashram on the East bank.
Sight Seeing:
Lakshman Jhulla- Lakshman Jhula, a 450 feet long suspension bridge was built in 1939.
Triveni Ghat- The main ghat in the town area where most of the pilgrims take holy dip. Every evening hundreds of pilgrims attend the Ganga Arti at the Ghat. Don’t miss the Aarti ( prayers) in the evening.
Rishikund-Close to Trivenighat is the most ancient place, the Rishikund. Ancient records relate this to Kubz Saint , who was blessed by the Goddess Yamuna by saturating this pond by its water.The pond reflects the temple of Ragunath , dedicated to Lord Rama and his wife.
Ram Jhula- Ram Jhula has been added recently. The fresh air and sound of flowing water, the scenic beauty of the region and the distant sound of bells create an unforgettable experience for those that visit this holy town.
Day3. Mussoorie

Places to be covered- gunhill, kempty fall, municipal garden, bhatta falls
Mussoorie- Mussoorie is located in the Garhwal hills. Due to its immense natural beauty, Mussoorie is known as the queen of hill stations. In 1820 Captain Young from the British army was influenced by the beauty of this place and made this place his residence. This marked the foundation of a hill station called Mussoorie. The name, Mussoorie, is derived from plants of 'Mussoorie' which were found in abundance here. After its discovery, this hill station gradually developed as a center of education, business, tourism and beauty.
Sight Seeing:
Gunhill-- Gun Hill being the second highest peak of Mussoorie offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri Group to name the few. During pre-independence days a Gun mounted on this top used to be fired at mid-day to enable people to adjust their watches and hence this name. It can be reached by the Ropeway ride whose distance is 400 mtrs. or by the bridle path which forks-off from Kutchery and takes about twenty minutes.
kempty fall- Located at 15 Kms from Mussoorie on way to Yamunotri having an altitude of 1370 mtrs. It has a distinction of being the biggest and prettiest waterfall located in a beautiful valley and is surrounded by high mountains. Bath at the foot of the fall is enjoyable and unforgettable experience during summer days.
municipal garden- It is picnic spot having a beautiful garden and an artificial mini lake with paddled boating facility. It is located at a distance of 4 kms. by rickshaw cycles, pony or by a car and 2 kms. via Waverly Convent School road on foot.
bhatta falls- 7 Kms. from Mussoorie on Mussoorie-Dehradun Road near Bhatta Village. Accessible by car or bus upto Bhatta from where the fall is 3 kms by foot. The place is ideal for bathing and having picnic. A fall with different ponds for bathing and water amusements, ideal place for picnic. A picnic spot with a difference.
Day 4- Mussoorie To Delhi
After Breakfast Leave For Half Day City Tour To Mussoorie and Onward Journey to Delhi Airport or Station as per schedule.

The Queen of Hill stations, MUSSOORIE.- Mussoorie is located amidst the middle Himalayas known as the 'Shivalik' mountain range in Northern India. There is a whole lot that I can write about this place but the nostalgia is almost overwhelming, not to mention the wave of emotions that overcomes my better sense, every time I talk about Mussoorie even after being away from it for almost 15 years now.
I am assuming that most of you reading this, are somehow connected to Mussoorie. There's also a fair chance that I don't even know who you are BUT at the same time there is an equally good chance that you could be someone I knew personally. There is also a finite possibility that someone totally unrelated or uninformed about the place could have either wandered here by accident or have been referred to by me. No matter how you got here, the truth of the matter is that either way, you made the effort to click on this page, and have gone through the pain of waiting for this to load up, and I really do hope that I can make your effort worthwhile.
sir george everest- The place called Park Estate where building & laboratory of first Surveyor General of India Sir George Everest after whom worlds highest peak Mt. Everest is named stills stands. It is 6 kms from Gandhi Chowk and vehicle can go right upto the place. The place provides an enchanting view of Doon Valley on one side and view of Yamuna Valley & snow bound himalayan ranges on the other. An ideal place for picnic and trekking.
nag devta temple- An ancient temple dedicated to Snake God Lord Shiva and is situated on Cart Mackenjee road is about 6 kms from Mussoorie on way to Dehradun. Vehicles can go right upto the temple. Place provies a enchanting view of Mussoorie & Doon valley.
